Just a Tree?

I so love digital photography, it allows you to really play, tweak and adjust in the field, allowing you to try so many adjustments and ways of approaching an photograph.

Landscape photography in Cornwall is just so relaxing. You get to walk, enjoy and admire your surroundings. Looking for that hidden aspect which will just work when captured with a box of electrics, some glass and a steady hand. There can be pressures when you are waiting for the right light, the smoke from a chimney to blow the right direction, or the horses on the cliff edge are just in the right place, yet all those aspects aside, you can choose to capture a peaceful, relaxing image that can be honed.

You can also mentally ease some of the pressure by remembering you have the back up and support of your editing suite, cup of coffee and the warmth of your own home. This adds a certain quality to an image. It portrays it’s self for what it is, there is a reflection in the style of capture when you look at the finished photograph.

I totally stumbled upon this photograph. it was not a planned location. I found the leading line in the stubble field while walking a dog. I saw the line pointing towards a tree and the clouds were looking interesting. I also knew, from experience, there would be plenty of scope for the image, (which was flat in real life) after a little photoshop work. I have learnt to see the textures and tones and I understand how I can make them look.

The only area of this image, that I have no control over is the sloping ground. Some say it adds to the photograph, others have argued it makes it look a little un-easy to the eye. What do you think?
