Photographing lakes and other bodies of water offer their own range of problems. You would have thought it easy to capture wonderful vistas like the ones below but consider the following. Metering (getting the exposure right) is very challenging and the use of careful metering and filters can all assist. The weather also changes very quickly and this effects the light on the lake, so constant tweaks are required to keep the setting accurate for the conditions.
Many of these lake photographs would have required getting to locations very early in the morning and possibly a long and arduous walk, to get to the prime location, to take the photograph. Another advantage of getting to a lake early, is there are not other humans there to ruin the natural photograph.
